Ulises Ortiz Castillo

During the COVID-19 pandemic, distancing and confinement were one of the global strategies to eradicate contagion. This situation raised several scenarios that mainly impacted the economy and public health.

The work “The New Normal” consists of 20 posters about this new everyday life. The works invite the eye to reflect on this new perception of ourselves and others, of time and space, of absence and coexistence, of distance and closeness.

Some works have been selected in art and design festivals and biennials around the world, for example Lacuna Festivals International, Festival of Contemporary Art, Spain (2022), 1st International Biennial of Applied Arts, Lithuania (2022), IV Biennial of the South, Peoples in Resistance, Venezuela, (2021), 4th Block Design Triennial, Ukraine (2021), XVI Latin American Virtual Design Meeting, University of Palermo, Argentina (2021), El Otro Cervantino International Festival 2nd Edition, Mexico (2021), 2nd International Virtual Digital Art ASEDAS, Indonesia (2021), 2nd Exhibition of Excellent Works members of CEIDA, China (2021)and COShow Poster Biennial, USA (2021).
