Flowers

May 8 – June 7, 2025

To watch the once-barren mountains that encircle the city — mountains cloaked in snow through winter, spring, and much of autumn — come alive with green, and to see, upon closer approach, a dazzling spread of wildflowers carpeting the slopes like a carpet, fills the heart of a nature and flower lover like myself with boundless joy.

As summer draws near, the vibrant grasses begin to wither and yellow, and then it is the understated beauty of the modest grain fields that delights the soul.

And later, gazing once more at the mountains’ familiar white shroud, you await the return of spring… and in that longing, you find yourself sketching unreal flowers born from yearning.
